TOPS 0069 Casa Grande News August 2019

Hello Members
I want to update all of you on our new Leader and new board positions.
I know it's been over a year that I have updated our website.  I will update at least once a month now that things are slowing down a bit for me.  I keep you all up-to-date on things here in Casa Grande TOPS.
Back on August 13th, we had elections of new board members.
Running for Leader was Pat Kennedy, Co-Leader was Kathy Domke and Val Hardison, Secretary was Nancy Brokaw and Judy Miller, Treasurer was Mary Ann Melby.
And the new elect Board is:
Leader - Pat Kennedy
Co-Leader - Kathy Domke
Secretary - Nancy Brokaw
Treasure - Mary Ann Melby
Weight Recorder - Mary Kramme
Asst. Weight Recorder - Dee Van Winkle

Congratulations new TOPS 0069 Board Members!

On August 20th, we had inauguration of the new Board.  Pat Kennedy made a beautiful presentation.  Donna Blewer was the presenter.  Val Hardison stood in for Nancy Brokaw and Mary Ann Melby, both were out of town on this day.

Congratulations Ladies!

Other News:

Pat Kennedy is currently looking for a new place for us to hold our meetings.  The place we are in currently is nice for our summer members because there are about 15 - 20 people present.  But once our snowbirds come back we are pretty tight.  She does have a place she is working with to see if we can get in there for about the rent we are paying now or lower.  So please, keep watch for these details in the up coming Newsletters.  I will keep you all updated.
Don't forget Tuesday is the beginning of the month and Awards day.  Please bring a fruit for the Awards basket.  And wear your sashes.

August 27th Minutes:

TOPS AZ #0069 Casa Grande was called to order by Leader Pat Kennedy with the pledge of Allegiance and the TOPS and KOPS Pledges.
There were 19 members present with a new visitor who decided to join, Ginny Lewis.  Welcome Ginny!
Mary Kramme recited roll call with Mariana Coley the week’s best loser, with a loss of 5.2 pounds.   Runner up best loser was a ty between Mary Kramme and Kay Faulstick, both with a 3 pound loss. We sang the best losers song to Mariana Coley.
Weight recorder Mary Kramme reported for last week a 8.4 pound loss and a gain of 17.6 with a net gain of 9.2.
Secretary’s report was read by Nancy Brokaw.  It was approved as read.  There was no treasurer’s report
Sorry Box name drawn last week was Mary Anne Melby and she opened her gift. Kay Faulstick was the new sorry box winner.
This week’s no-no game dice was rolled by Mariana Coley and she rolled a #1.  This week was to drink an extra glass of water for four days.
Old Business:  We did get the St. Peters Episcopal Church located at 704 E. McMurray Blvd, in Casa Grande, for the new meeting place for our TOPS Club.  It will be decided at a later date when we will move to the new location.  Price was the same as we are paying now.
New Business:  Retreat in Prescott in March.  $445 for everything for the week.  We also talked about the Fall Rally coming up November 23rd.  Pat Kennedy is working on a centerpiece and nametags.  The theme is “Unmask the Real You with TOPS”.
Ina Johnson’s Quarter Contest resulted in 11 people receiving a quarter back!  That’s a lot of loser’s folks!

Ina Johnson showed all members many different chair exercises.  The group did them as a whole and I feel everyone really enjoyed it and learned a new exercises.
Leader Pat Kennedy had members pick a gift of a hat if they answered questions correctly regarding sugar.
Please pray for Ina Johnson and her hip problem
The meeting was closed with the song “The More we get Together.”
